Legal Orders

The Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) is the process that enables us to acquire the land and rights necessary for the construction and maintenance of new highway and highway improvements. This includes associated landscaping, drainage features and other infrastructure.

The Side Roads Order (SRO) is the process that enables us to:

  • improve, raise, lower or alter the highway
  • stop up highways and private means of access to premises
  • provide private means of access

The CPO and SRO were made on 4 December 2025.

One objection has been received to the CPO and 3 objections have been received to both the CPO and SRO. We are currently in the process of reviewing the grounds of objection and working with the objectors to resolve the points raised.

All information relating to the CPO and SRO can be found on this page.
