Adult social care strategy

We've developed a new adult social care strategy for Derbyshire which puts people at the heart of our services and changes the way we develop our services.

We listened carefully to the people of Derbyshire to understand what matters to them and how they want to live their lives. We are keeping their views at the centre of our thinking.

We shared our draft strategy with stakeholders and following that engagement we have amended the strategy to take into account feedback.

The main theme coming through, which was also reflected in the other themes, highlighted that the success of our priorities is dependent on improved access to information at the right time so people can make informed choices.

We have developed a digital strategy to enhance our capability in this area which you can read now. This strategy sets out how we will use digital technology to support how we deliver services to our local people, and we recognise that we must retain non-digital channels, so we remain inclusive to all.

Main themes from our adult care strategy engagement feedback meetings:

  • clear understandable information (67)
  • independence planning (46)
  • one-stop shop (41)
  • staff and services (29)
  • other (29)
  • full coproduction (28)
  • better sharing of resources (25)
  • more local (20)
  • finance (11)
  • quality assurance (6)
  • support for carers (5)
  • online (5)
  • direct payments (4)
