With more than 160 members, the forum provides an opportunity to:
- stay informed about local issues and services
- hear from a variety of guest speakers
- share your views on matters affecting the local community
- meet new people and make connections
- help influence local decision-making
- find out about projects, opportunities and support available in the area
We have worked with members on issues including local bus services, health service improvements and other topics important to older people in the community.
The forum has successfully represented residents on a range of issues. Achievements include helping to secure improvements to the timing of a local Saturday bus service and contributing to the Glossop LIFT project, which reviewed and developed the use of space at the Primary Care Centre in Glossop.
What to expect at our meetings
Our open forum meetings provide a friendly and welcoming opportunity for people aged 50 and over to come together, learn about local issues and services, and have their voices heard. Each session typically includes:
- guest speakers covering a range of interesting and relevant topics
- open discussions on local issues, transport, health services and community developments
- updates on projects and services affecting residents
- quizzes and interactive activities
- light refreshments, with time to chat and socialise

What we're doing
Our membership continues to grow and we now have over 160 members.
We work with our members to tackle issues such as local bus services, health service improvements and other topics relevant to the local community.
We also hold regular open forum meetings with excellent speakers with many varied topics.
Meetings and events
Our open forum meetings are held quarterly. They are on a Tuesday at Bradbury Community House. Light refreshments are provided with donations gratefully received.
