Icy conditions on Derbyshire Roads: Current closures.
We’ve made two emergency road closures this morning (Thurs 20 Nov) due to low temperatures overnight causing extremely icy conditions. Both routes were gritted yesterday and early this morning – however due to it still being very wet on many roads following Storm Claudia, with water still running off fields, this has caused build-ups of ice on these routes making it hazardous to motorists.
Closed roads are:
- A57 (Snake Pass) between Glossop and Bamford
- B6001 (Hassop Road) between Hassop Station Roundabout and Calver
Please expect these roads to be closed today and tonight, and we will inspect them again and open only when they are deemed safe to use. Please don’t ignore road closed signs.
