Crisis and Resilience Fund

The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) offers help to Derbyshire residents facing financial hardship by providing grants and other support. The fund is provided to us by the UK government.

Funded by UK government

The government has announced a new Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) to support low-income households who have a financial shock and to prevent crisis in the future.

The fund is 3-year funding from April 2026 to March 2029.

We've agreed plans for the delivery of CRF for year one. The plans include support from a number of different organisations in Derbyshire. We're working to get services set up, with the aim that they'll be delivering support from autumn 2026. We'll update this information as it becomes available.

Crisis support available now

The Derbyshire Discretionary Fund (DDF) can provide crisis payments if you are in urgent need of financial help following a crisis or disaster, or if you need help to settle or remain in your home.

You can find out more about DDF, the types of awards and how to apply.

Housing payments

CRF housing payments provide financial support with housing costs and replace Discretionary Housing Payments from April 2026. Housing payments are delivered by the 8 district and borough councils in Derbyshire. You can find your local council.

Help with heating oil and LPG costs

We've set up a scheme to provide support for residents who need help with heating oil and LPG costs as a result of conflict in the Middle East.
