Book and Borrow service

'Book and Borrow' is a service we introduced because of the coronavirus pandemic. Despite the easing of lockdown restrictions, it remains available should you prefer to use this service.

How this service works:

  • Ring or email the library you want to collect books from to make an appointment. You'll be given a date and time for a collection slot. If you email please include a phone number so we can call you back to arrange a time
  • Provide the name and library card number for each person who wants to borrow books, plus a phone number we can call you on
  • Give information on the type of books you'd like, such as the genre, examples of authors, and the format, or you can opt for a ‘lucky dip’. There's a maximum of 10 items per person for each collection slot. Books will be issued for the standard 3 week period, and the usual charges apply
  • Bring your library cards or card numbers for all the people you're collecting for, when visiting for your pre-booked slot
  • Bring your own bags
