Story and rhyme times

Our story and rhyme times are aimed at pre-schoolers from babies up to the age of 5. See what our libraries have in store. Contact your local library if you have any questions.

All our pre-school activities are free. Just drop in!

  • Storytime, every Monday (term-time only), 11am to 11.30am

Ashbourne Library

  • Rhyme Time, every Tuesday, 10.15am to 10.45am

Bakewell Library

  • Storytime. Tuesdays, 10.30am to 11am
  • 'Time to Play' (this is a parent-led activity). Every Thursday, 10am to 11am

Belper Library

  • Story and Rhyme Time, every Wednesday, 11am to 11.30am

Bolsover Library

These sessions are generally term-time only, but check with Claire and the library staff as sessions may be planned during the school holidays. Telephone: 01629 537800 or ask in person.

  • Baby Rhyme Time. Every Tuesday. Gentle songs and rhymes for ages 0 to 1 years.
  • Bubbles and Babies. Every Thursday and Friday from 10am to 11.30am. Term-time only. This is a self-led group session using the library's sensory materials for babies 0 to 12 months. This is a breastfeeding friendly space and we also have accessible baby change.
  • Toddler Rhyme and Storytime. Every Monday (term-time only), from 10am to 10.30am.

  • Bounce and Rhyme, every Tuesday (term-time only), 10.30am to 11am

Chesterfield Library

  • Baby Rhyme Time, every Monday, 9.30am to 10am
