We meet with other 50+ forums from across Derbyshire to share information, exchange ideas and discuss issues that matter to local communities. The forum also has representatives on the Bolsover District Council Partnership Board, helping to ensure the views of local people are heard.
Our meetings are designed to be informative, engaging and welcoming. We regularly invite guest speakers and encourage discussion on a variety of topics that affect local people.
Refreshments are provided free of charge at all meetings, and a buffet lunch is available at our June and December open meetings for a contribution of £3 per member.
We are a chatty and friendly group and welcome new members. Whether you would like to stay informed, meet new people, have your say on local issues or simply enjoy a morning out, we'd be pleased to see you.
The forum is run by a dedicated team of volunteers elected at the Annual General Meeting. They organise activities, information events and meetings with support from Derbyshire County Council.
What to expect at our meetings
Open forum meetings are held every quarter, with themes of health, security, safety and crime prevention. Each session typically includes:
- guest speakers covering a range of interesting and relevant topics
- fun quizzes and activities to keep things lively
- open discussions where you can learn about local services, support and community projects
- refreshments provided, with time to chat and socialise
We also encourage members to contribute ideas, raise topics that matter to them, and take an active part in shaping the group.
