Health and social care apprenticeships

Applications are now open for our second round of apprenticeship recruitment.

Apply for a health and social care apprenticeship

You'll be part of a team ensuring people remain as independent as possible supporting them with everyday tasks and activities such as washing, dressing, eating meals, maintaining interests or hobbies and staying socially active.

Or you could be supporting people with learning disabilities or mental health issues to achieve their goals and develop confidence and independence.

Our experienced staff will provide ongoing support and mentoring and after completing the 15-month training you'll receive a level 2 diploma in health and social care. We'll also be there to help you find a job when you complete your apprenticeship.

You can be an apprentice at any age − anyone over 16 can apply − and although previous experience isn't necessary, understanding the needs of older people, including those with dementia, is an important part of the work. It might suit you if you are:

  • returning to work after looking after children
  • a young person aged 16 or over who wants to take up a rewarding career
  • looking to change your career
  • currently unemployed
  • retired but want to continue working

Working hours are flexible and we offer good rates of pay, high quality training and many other benefits including 25 days paid holiday and a free uniform.

If you're an adaptable, compassionate person who's interested in people and would like to kick-start your career in care, you can find out more and apply from 16 August 2018. Closing date is Sunday 2 September 2018.
