Additional highway maintenance funding: Network North

The Prime Minister's Network North announcement on 4 October 2023 included a commitment to an additional £8.3 billion for local highway maintenance from 2023 to 2024 to 2033 to 2034.

Funded by UK government

We've received an additional £3 million of funding for local highways maintenance and we will also receive the same additional amount in 2024 to 2025.

The additional funding will be used to improve the condition of Derbyshire's roads after the damage caused by Storm Babet and other severe weather events over recent months.

The work will predominantly be carriageway resurfacing treatments and they will be carried out jointly by our in-house delivery team and external sub-contractors to ensure that the sites are targeted as soon as possible to improve the condition for the travelling public.
