RSPH Level 2 Award in Encouraging Vaccination Uptake course

Public health recognise that community development workers help whole communities, families or individuals, to improve the quality of their lives.

We know you do this by acting as a vital link between communities and health, local authority and voluntary services.

This training will support you to:

  • work on specific projects and actively engage with communities in making sense of the issues which affect their lives
  • ensure that local people have their say
  • build links with other groups and agencies
  • help to raise public awareness on the impact of low vaccine uptake

Course content

The provider will use a range of training methods to engage with you and help you to develop your skills and knowledge in this area.

Some of the topics covered will be:

  • understanding the importance of vaccines and the key features of vaccination programmes
  • sources of vaccine concern and vaccine hesitancy regarding a named vaccination programme
  • what can impact on behaviour change and how to explore these factors with an individual
  • how to apply models of behaviour change in a brief intervention or conversation with an individual

You will receive a RSPH Level 2 Award upon successful completion which will demonstrate your commitment to improving public health.
