We have the lead responsibility for public health across the health and care system in Derbyshire
Our public health department works in partnership with emergency planning colleagues, local NHS organisations, Public Health England, police, fire and borough and district councils to plan, prepare and respond to threats to public health, including those from infectious disease and environmental hazards.
The Director of Public Health has a statutory duty to seek assurance of the health and social care system to protect the health of the population. This includes providing advice, seeking assurance of planning and response and supporting messages to the public.
