Carers Week events
The events in Derbyshire during Carers Week are hosted by our Derbyshire All Age Carers Support Service (DAACSS). They include:
- Carers information day drop-in at Tesco, Bridge St North, Clay Cross, S45 9NU. Monday 8 June, 10am to midday
- MacMillan carers event: MacMillan Cancer Support Centre, Chesterfield Royal Hospital, S44 5BL. Monday 8 June, 10am to 1pm
- Cygnet Health carer information event at Cygnet Sherwood Lodge, Mansfield, NG21 0HR. Monday 8 June, 10am to 3pm
- Walk and flower pressing at Doe Lea Resource Centre, Mansfield Road, Chesterfield, S44 5PD. Tuesday 9 June, 11am to 2pm:
- Come for a 2 hour walk with Move More Amber Valley and Walk Derbyshire starting at Ripley Leisure Centre, DE5 3HR. Wednesday 10 June, midday to 2pm
- Carsington Walk. Meet outside the visitor centre at Big Lane, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 1ST. Wednesday 10 June, 11am - 1pm:
- Walk in Buxton Park. Meet outside Buxton Swimming and Fitness Centre at the western end of the Pavilion Gardens promenade, SK17 6BE. Wednesday 10 June, 11am to 1pm
- ABC Support Group, Chatsworth Suite, SMH Group Stadium (Chesterfield FC), S41 8NZ. Thursday 11 June, 10am to midday
- Information day. Etwall Cricket Club, DE65 6LT. Friday 12 June, 10.30am to 2pm
- Fenton Ward carer drop-in: Fenton Ward, Cavendish Hospital, Buxton, SK17 6TE. Friday 12 June, 2pm to 3.30pm

The Derbyshire All Age Carers Support Service (DAACSS)
DAACSS is delivered by Derbyshire Carers Association on our behalf. It includes:
- an information and advice helpline
- face to face, home visits and telephone support
- planning for emergencies
- support groups
- carer’s assessments
- skills for caring
- financial advice and grants
- social activities and events
- volunteering and more.

A carer is anyone including children and adults who provide unpaid support with day to day living tasks or personal care to a family member, partner, or friend.
The person they care for could be ill, frail, suffer from a physical or mental health condition or impairment, is autistic, living with dementia, drug, or alcohol dependent.
