If you live, work or study in Derbyshire you can join the library.

Joining the library online

From Thursday 5 November, most of our libraries will be returning to a 'Book & Borrow' service in line with government restrictions. You can still join your library online or by contacting your local library.

Once you have joined you will receive an automated email with a temporary number, which can't be used to access services. You will be sent your library card within 10 working days, you can use this to access our wide range of ebooks, e-audiobooks, e-magazines and e-newspapers.

If you have any questions or queries about the joining process please contact ask.library@derbyshire.gov.uk

Lost tickets

If you think you're already a library member but have lost your ticket, please contact your local library for a replacement.

Children

You're never too young to join the library.

Children under 13 years old

If you're joining in a library, a parent or carer needs to show one form of identification or have a valid Derbyshire library card. If you're joining online, the form should be completed by a parent or guardian.

Young people aged 13 and over

You'll need to show one form of identification or your b_line card.
