Our libraries will be hosting lots of fun events and activities over the summer holidays linked to this year's theme of 'Story Garden – Adventures in Nature and the Great Outdoors', exploring the magical connection between storytelling and nature.

You can sign up at your local library, and the challenge is to read 6 or more library books over summer.
You'll collect up to 6 stickers and once you've collected them all you'll receive a medal and certificate. All our libraries will be taking part and launch day is Saturday 5 July 2025.

Last year’s challenge saw 4,477 children signing up to the challenge in Derbyshire, with 723 more joining the library so that they could take part. The Challenge is free to join and runs until 6 September 2025.
The Summer Reading Challenge is presented by The Reading Agency and delivered in partnership with libraries.
