School admission appeals

If you couldn't get a place for your child in the school you wanted you can appeal against the decision.

There have been changes to the admission appeals process during the coronavirus pandemic.

Your appeal will be heard by an appeal panel, independent of the school and us.

Our guidance on appeals is attached to this page and you should read this before appealing.

Secondary appeals

If your appeal is for a child transferring to secondary school and were told of the decision on 2 March 2020, you should have submitted your appeal within 28 days.

If you are told of a secondary school decision after 2 March 2020 or it relates to an in-year admission you should submit your appeal within 28 days of being told that your application was unsuccessful.
