School admission appeals

If you couldn't get a place for your child in the school you wanted you can appeal against the decision.

There have been changes to the admission appeals process during the coronavirus pandemic.

Your appeal will be heard by an appeal panel, independent of the school and us.

Our guidance on appeals is attached to this page and you should read this before appealing.

Secondary appeals

If your appeal is for a child transferring to secondary school in September and you received your decision on 1 March 2021, you can appeal here if your application was unsuccessful. The closing date for the first tranche of these appeals has now passed so if you have not already appealed, you should do this urgently.

If you received your decision relating to a child transferring to secondary school in September after 1 March 2021 or your appeal relates to an in year admission you should submit your appeal within 28 days of being told that your application was unsuccessful.

See guidance for making your secondary school admissions appeal.
