The Family and Childcare Trust have developed a film for parents, which aims to help identify what a good childcare setting should be like. The short film, choosing a nursery - what to look out for is set in a real nursery and shows parents, staff and children describing what they like best about their childcare and what the important factors are that make it into a good quality setting.
Most childcare for children aged under 8 is registered and inspected by Ofsted Early Years. You can find a provider's inspection report. All Ofsted-registered providers will have a certificate - ask to see it.
