Sustainability and stronger communities courses

Book a sustainability course

Volunteer passport

Our volunteer passport is a 10-hour course. It can be run over several weeks. It looks at key topics all volunteers need to be aware of. These include:​

  • equality, diversity and inclusion​
  • health and safety​
  • keeping yourself and others safe​
  • first aid awareness​
  • the person-centred approach​

Everyone who completes the course gets an accredited certificate and a Volunteer Passport photo ID badge. There is no charge for these, or to attend the course.​

Derbyshire Eco Centre​

Derbyshire Eco Centre in Middleton-by-Wirksworth is the county hub for sustainability learning. It's at the heart of our drive to combat climate change.​

The eco centre encourages learning that brings together people's interests, places and prosperity.​

  • a living green roof​
  • rainwater harvesting​
  • air source heat pump​
  • solar panels​

The construction of the building is important. It helps us promote sustainability to everyone.​
