The Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers certificates and diploma to be offered in Derbyshire
Ashbourne Adult Community Education Centre is proud to be working with the Association of Master Craftsmen and Upholsterers (AMUSF) to offer qualifications in Derbyshire. The course is going from strength to strength with excellent results achieved in 2021, with all our learners achieving a distinction.
We've been running upholstery classes from our Ashbourne Centre for 50 years and have previously offered City and Guilds upholstery qualifications. The centre has been described as 'a Centre of Excellence in Upholstery' by the City and Guilds external moderator who said:
"Learners return year on year, to continue to learn the craft. Craft skills are delivered to a high professional standard with integrated approaches to innovation and design".
We're the only East Midlands provider of the AMUSF qualifications and are in a unique position to offer high quality courses for adults wanting to learn new upholstery skills or move into a new career. We're delighted to be offering these sought after qualifications and are looking forward to welcoming new learners. Staff in the Ashbourne centre commented:
"The adults on our upholstery courses love discovering the traditional upholstery techniques, they create fantastic furniture and quickly become committed to keeping these skills alive".
The AMUSF qualifications are very practical with learners working through a number of traditional and modern tasks and coming away from the course with knowledge, skills and unique pieces of furniture. These qualifications can lead to employment within the industry or with additional practice can lead to starting a small business.
The upholstery qualification is delivered in 3 stages with each stage being a qualification in its own right, and each stage certificated separately. For more information contact Ashbourne ACE Centre, email: firstname.lastname@example.org or tel: 01629 533696.
Upholstery leisure courses in Derbyshire
Our non-vocational traditional upholstery courses are excellent for anyone wanting to develop upholstery skills without working towards a qualification. Learners take along a project to upholster and work through each stage until the item is completed. These courses are a great opportunity to upgrade any upholstered furniture including chairs, stools and ottomans.
