Our adult education centres

We run courses across Derbyshire in our adult community education (ACE) centres, and we also deliver learning from around 100 community venues across Derbyshire.

Our centres are open during term time and some centres are open for limited periods during the school holidays. Check with your centre before you travel to make sure it's open.

The centre is next to Bolsover Castle, close to Bolsover town centre where there are free car parks and easy access to buses. Several bus routes go through Bolsover town, with a bus stop near the centre and several more in the marketplace.

  • Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 4.30pm
  • Wednesday from 9am to 5pm
  • Friday from 9am to 12.30pm

Buxton Fairfield ACE Centre

Chesterfield Adult Education Centre is located inside a shared building with other services. We have access to shared visitor car parking to the left of the building which is limited.

There are 15 free parking spaces for up to 2 hrs at Queen Street which is close by. A bit further away is Beal Bank where there are 70 free car parking spaces. There are buses to Dock Walk and Boythorpe Road with bus stops nearby.

Glossop ACE Centre

We have a free car park for 27 vehicles which is shared with the library at the front and back of the centre with 3 parking spaces for Blue Badge holders.

The train station and bus stop are close to the centre. For the nearest bus stop use Henry Street stop A for the 341, 237, or 219. Stop B for the 61, 237, 257c, 390, 393 or 394. Stop C for 351 or 237.

There is also easy access from Glossop train station which is served by Northern Rail. Trains are normally every 30 minutes throughout the day.
