We are due to change the layout of the site, off Main Street in Newhall, overnight on Wednesday 29 July. The new layout will create more than double the current number of parking spaces – taking the number to 15 – and increase the amount of waste which can be stored on site to reduce disruption from lorry movements.
Staff will be on hand to help residents when the centre opens at 9.30am on 30 July and to direct traffic through a new one-way system to make entering and leaving the site easier.
Work has been planned overnight to minimise disruption to residents by avoiding closure during the day.
Councillor Carol Wood, our Cabinet Member for Environment, said:
“Bretby is one of our smallest recycling centres but I’m pleased we’re able to put measures in place to increase the number of vehicles we can have on-site at any one time as well as the amount of waste.
“It should mean residents spend less time queuing to use the centre with fewer delays while waste is removed from the site and we hope the changes we’re making will make recycling even easier for local people.”
