What this consultation is about
We’re doing all we can to keep services running while our budgets are cut back year-on-year and we’re protecting frontline services and vulnerable people as much as possible. But the size of the cuts mean we have no choice about scaling back most of the services we provide.
One of the areas where we’re having to make reductions is our libraries and heritage service. To achieve part of these savings one of our proposals is to make changes to the opening hours of the Derbyshire Record Office (DRO) which may realise a saving of up to £125,000.
The Derbyshire Record Office is currently open Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 5pm and on Saturdays between 9.30am and 1pm. Proposals have been put forward to reduce these hours from 41 hours to 30 hours per week.
This consultation is now closed. A report was presented to Cabinet, 14 March 2017, Agenda item no 15.
