Families Information Service Parental Childcare Survey 2025

Status: Open

Opens: 5 August 2025 - Closes: 31 August 2025

What this consultation is about

We're undertaking a parent/carer survey to assess the current childcare market. This survey is open to all parents and carers of children aged 0-14 years old (or 0-18 years old for children with special educational needs and/or a disability).

We would like to hear more about your current and future childcare needs.

From April 2024, the financial support that is available to parents to help with the cost of childcare has been increasing.

The government’s childcare plan will reach the final stage of the rollout in September 2025 where eligible families will be able to access up to 30 hours of funded childcare from the term after their child turns 9 months old until they reach school age.

For children of school age, before and after school provision continues to be developed. This is in line with the government ambition that by September 2026 parents of primary school age children should be able to access wraparound childcare between 8am and 6pm, should they require it.
