What this consultation is about
We want to know what people think of our proposals to make a legal order to prevent cars, 4x4s and other motorised vehicles from using Jacob’s Ladder between The Nook and New Road in Stoney Middleton.
Jacob’s Ladder is a narrow countryside route which has very few places for vehicles to pass each other or other users – including walkers, horse-riders and cyclists.
We apologise if you’ve already given us your views about our proposals during the consultation we held during 17 May and 14 June 2018 – but it’s really important that you take part again to make sure your comments are taken into consideration.
This is because we made an administrative error during the last consultation which means all the comments previously made cannot be taken into account. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
The following documents are attached
- location plan
- the statement of reasons
- the notice of making the order
- the draft order
- report to the Cabinet Member – Highways, Transport and Infrastructure of 26 October 2017
- our Green Lanes Policy
We would appreciate your views on this proposal. If objections are received, a report will be submitted to the Cabinet Member – Highways, Transport and Infrastructure for his consideration.
Any objections and representations relating to the proposed order can be made via the online consultation or in writing to Mike Ashworth, Strategic Director – Economy, Transport and Environment, County Hall, Matlock, DE4 3AG; email: email@example.com quoting reference WD93-15/TRO before 5 October 2018. All objections must state the grounds on which they are made.
Summary of proposed changes
We intend to implement a Traffic Regulation Order on Stoney Middleton Byway Open to All Traffic No15, known as Jacob's Ladder to prevent future use of the route by mechanically propelled vehicles.
