The aim of the directory is simple – to help you find local community organisations.
Groups
The following types of groups are listed:
- hobby and activity clubs
- groups for parents, children and young people
- charities
- church and faith groups
- sports clubs
- social groups for older people
- community groups
- advice services for medical conditions
All groups listed are not-for-profit. Sometimes, if there's not a local branch of a charity, we list a national contact.
Updates
New entries are added most weeks.
Groups registered on the directory are responsible for checking their information is up-to-date. We also contact them every few weeks to remind them to check their details.

Childcare
We list activity groups for children and teenagers. You can search for registered childcare (childminders, nurseries, playgroups, crèches).
Sports clubs
We list community sports clubs on the Derbyshire Directory. However, we do not list profit-making organisations such as golf clubs and dancing schools.
Active Derbyshire has information about sporting opportunities in Derbyshire.
Arts groups
Lots of arts activities are listed on the Derbyshire Directory. If you're interested in the arts you could also visit the artsderbyshire.
