Registering a building as a place of worship
The person who acts as 'minister', 'proprietor' or 'trustee' at the place of worship should contact the superintendent registrar in the district in which the venue is situated for advice and an application form.
Applications are forwarded by the superintendent registrar to the General Register Office for authorisation.
If a congregation stops using the building, the General Register Office must be informed.
