You'll need to be confident working with many different kinds of people and have good spoken and written communication skills.
The tasks you may be involved in during your placement are:
- helping to plan PR campaigns
- helping with the production of leaflets, websites, brochures and newsletters
- helping to arrange council events
- general office duties such as photocopying and filing
You'll learn what's involved in communications and public relations in a public services setting.
