Working in an office

If you’re interested in working in a business services setting and have good organisational and communication skills then a work experience placement in one of our business services offices could be right for you.


You'll need to have basic computer skills, and good spoken and written communication skills.

The tasks you may be involved in during your placement are:

  • helping business services assistants with incoming and outgoing post
  • answering the telephone and passing on messages
  • entering information onto our systems
  • photocopying and filing
  • helping business services assistants to set up meetings and staff appointments

You'll learn how an office works and gain general office skills.
