Driving safer for longer

We are offering our popular 'driving safer for longer' information sessions to Derbyshire residents aged 50 years and older.


The 'driving safer for longer' information session offers attendees a chance to update their driving knowledge. The session aims to support residents to continue driving for as long as they choose, exploring potential difficulties which may affect driving ability along with possible solutions.

Themes covered include:

  • hazard perception
  • smart motorways
  • changes to eyesight and hearing
  • driving impairments including the effects of alcohol and medication
  • journey planning
  • vehicle adaptations
  • keeping safe in the vehicle

Dates

Available sessions are:

  • Thursday 16 April: 1pm to 2.30pm – online on Microsoft Teams
  • Saturday 27 June 10am to 11.30am – County Hall, Matlock
  • Wednesday 29 July 10am to 11.30am – online on Microsoft Teams
  • Friday 20 November 1pm to 2.30pm – online on Microsoft Teams
