The duty plan aims to:
- deliver against the government’s priorities for transport: “tackling congestion and disruption on the highway network enabling the expeditious movement of traffic, delivering accessibility; offering improved transport choices and reliable journey times; better air quality and improved alternative transport.”
- set out a long-term plan and a commitment to improve the management of roadworks and the efficient movement of traffic
- build on and improve existing services and implement new actions to improve the reliability of journey times across Derbyshire and into neighbouring local authority road networks as well as meeting our air quality and carbon objectives
