Volunteering

You can also play your part to help Derbyshire food banks by volunteering.

Volunteers don't need any special skills or experience but need to be aged over 16. Duties include meeting food bank users, processing vouchers, managing stock and signposting people to other agencies and support services for the help and advice they may need. Some food banks struggle to attract volunteers who can carry our specific tasks, for example lifting heavy boxes in the warehouse.

If you'd like to volunteer, contact your local food bank to check what help they need. Full training is provided.
