The Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift is more than a sporting event. It's an opportunity for communities across Derbyshire to come together, celebrate our county and create a memorable welcome for the world's best female cyclists.
Whether you're a resident, school, community group, business, volunteer or cycling enthusiast, there will be opportunities to play your part as we count down to race day in 2027.
Together, we can showcase Derbyshire's stunning landscapes, vibrant communities and warm hospitality to a global audience, while creating a lasting legacy for local people and places.
The JOY programme
As part of the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift Grand Départ 2027, Grand Départ Great Britain has developed the JOY Programme, a nationwide initiative designed to inspire people, celebrate communities and maximise the benefits of hosting one of the world's greatest sporting events.
The programme aims to ensure that the impact of the race extends far beyond the route itself, creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved, be active and enjoy the excitement of the tour in the lead-up to 2027.
The JOY Programme will focus on:
- inspiring more people to cycle, walk, wheel and be active
- promoting health, wellbeing and active lifestyles
- engaging children and young people through sport and education
- supporting community participation and celebration
- encouraging volunteering opportunities
- showcasing local places, culture and heritage
- creating a positive and lasting legacy for communities
We're looking forward to working alongside Grand Départ Great Britain, local partners, community organisations and residents to help ensure communities across the county can benefit from and participate in this exciting programme.
