Rights of way maintenance programme

We put up signposts throughout the county to show the direction of a public right of way where it leaves a road and we also regularly cut vegetation on a public right of way where it is required.

Vegetation clearance

Work has begun on the 2025 programme to keep selected Public Rights of Way clear of seasonal undergrowth (vegetation growing in the surface of the path).

The first cut is due to be completed by the end of July 2025 and some paths will receive a second cut towards the end of August 2025.

The vegetation clearance document attached to this page provides information about the sections of public rights of way where we're planning to cut vegetation.

Reporting

You can help us by reporting a missing signpost or difficulty in using a public right of way.

Thank you for your help and, above all, enjoy the fantastic network of paths throughout Derbyshire.
