The sessions are free for families who claim benefit related free school meals and are provided by a range of local organisations and groups.
Free places may also be available to children in vulnerable groups, including children with special educational needs (SEND) or young carers, who are not currently in receipt of free school meals. A small fee may be applicable for other applicants.
Places are available on a first come, first served basis, with priority given to children who receive free school meals and those with vulnerabilities.
The holiday activities and food programme is funded by the Department for Education (DfE).
Derbyshire's It's About Me holiday activity and food programme
We are excited to let you know that Derbyshire’s popular holiday activities and food programme It's about me Derbyshire is back again for Summer 2023, running free activity clubs across the County for children aged 4 to 16 who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
Holiday clubs will run from Monday 24 July to Friday 1 September, offering a brilliant mix of fun action-packed days and tasty food across various locations around Derbyshire.
Clubs will run on average for 4 hours a day and each day your child will enjoy a fun-packed programme filled with a wide range of sports and games, arts and crafts, cookery, dance and music.
Programmes will vary depending on the type and location of each local club, but every day there will be a delicious nutritious meal served up for free!
