Apprenticeships for employers

An apprenticeship is a way for young people and adult learners to earn while they learn in a real job, gaining a real qualification and a real future. Hiring apprentices helps businesses to grow their own talent by developing a motivated, skilled, and qualified workforce.

Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service (DACES) offers apprenticeships that are designed in collaboration with employers to ensure that they grow a more skilled workforce.

DACES can support employers through the entire recruitment process so that they are sure to match the apprentice with the roles required within the workforce. This includes advertising vacancies, support with shortlisting and interviews.

We offer apprentices pre interview guidance to and support to enable them to have the best opportunity to gain employment. If unsuccessful we can offer feedback and courses in employability, confidence and maths and English.

All apprentices are visited in the workplace and supported throughout their apprenticeship journey. Employers are also provided with ongoing support to ensure their apprentice is progressing and on track to complete their training.

DACES are a large provider for our apprenticeship offer and are proud of the high success of apprentices securing permanent roles and promotions within the council.
