The Derbyshire Food Partnership Stakeholder Engagement Event brought together representatives from community organisations, businesses, NHS organisations, local authorities and other partners to share ideas and discuss the challenges in accessing healthy food, and to explore opportunities to work together to improve the local food system across the county.
Councillor Dan Price, Derbyshire County Council's Cabinet Member for Communities and Safety, said:
"It was encouraging to see so many organisations come together to share their ideas and experiences, and the feedback from this event will help shape the next stage of the Derbyshire Food Plan.
“Food is at the heart of a healthy and prosperous community. It plays a central role in our homes and communities, and it is a source of local pride and celebration.
“Our ambition is to make food a force for good in Derbyshire, improving health and wellbeing while helping communities and businesses thrive.”
The event marked the start of an ongoing conversation with partners across Derbyshire, helping to ensure the Food Plan reflects the needs and experiences of local communities.
Feedback gathered during the event will be used to help develop the Derbyshire Food Plan and identify future priorities for action.
