Free NHS health checks brought directly to Derbyshire workplaces

Published: 11 September 2026

We're encouraging employers across Derbyshire to sign up for a free service that brings health checks directly into the workplace, making it easier for staff to understand their health and take action early if needed.

Available to workplaces across Derbyshire (excluding Derby City), the service is free for both employers and employees. Businesses simply need to provide a suitable space and register their interest, with the NHS Health Check team taking care of the rest.

The initiative supports our ambition to help people stay healthy and independent for longer through prevention and early support, with risks identified sooner and help available where it is needed most.

Since launching, the service has delivered more than 2,000 health checks at workplaces across the county.

The checks include blood pressure, cholesterol and body measurements, helping identify risks linked to conditions such as heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes. Early awareness can help people make positive lifestyle changes or access support before more serious health problems develop.

Councillor Dan Price, Cabinet Member for Communities and Safety, said:

"Good employee health and wellbeing benefits both individuals and businesses, which is why we're encouraging employers across Derbyshire to take advantage of this free service.

"By bringing NHS Health Checks directly into workplaces, we're making preventative healthcare easier to access and helping more people understand their health. This supports our ambition to help Derbyshire residents stay healthy and independent for longer through prevention and early support, with risks identified sooner and help available where it is needed most."

Employers interested in hosting NHS Health Checks can find out more and register their interest online and a member of the team will get in touch to discuss arrangements.
