We want a range of views on options to ensure Derbyshire Adult Education Service is fit for the future and has the greatest impact on the lives of people who need the most support.
Changes to the way the service is funded provides an opportunity to look at how it could be more flexible and responsive, supporting even more people to gain qualifications to help them achieve.
We're encouraging residents to have their say by filling in an online questionnaire.

And a series of drop-in events have been organised where people can get support from a member of staff to fill in the survey.
They will be held at:
- Bolsover Adult Education Centre – 12 January 9:30pm to 12:30pm and 21 January 12:30 to 3:30pm
- The Quad, Chesterfield – 13 January 9:30am to 12:30pm and 20 January 12:30pm to 3:30pm
- Cotmanhay Adult Education Centre – 14 January 9:30pm to 12:30pm and 28 January 12:30pm to 3:30pm
- Glossop Adult Education Centre – 13 January 12:30pm to 3:30pm and 14 January 9:30pm to 12:30pm
- Fairfield Adult Education Centre, Buxton – 15 January 9:30pm to 3:30pm
- Clay Cross Adult Education Centre – 15 January 9:30am to 3:30pm and 20 January 12:30pm to 3:30pm
- Swadlincote Adult Education Centre – 21 January 12:30pm to 3:30pm and 27 January 9:30pm to 12:30pm
Cabinet Member for SEND and Education Councillor Simon Mabbott said:
“It’s really important that we get a range of views to help us shape our services so they are fit for the future.
“We’re committed to delivering high-quality adult education and recent funding changes – together with the changing needs of Derbyshire communities - gives us an opportunity to make sure learning is flexible, supports people who need it most and in locations where they’ll get the best from it.
“I’d like to reassure everyone that no decisions will be made about the future of either of these services until we’d had chance to hear people’s views and take these fully in to account.”
The consultation runs until midnight on Sunday 22 February.
