From furniture and homeware to garden equipment, books, CDs and vinyl, there’s a host of pre-loved items ready for a new home – so why not pop along to the centre on Waterswallows Road and bag yourself a deal.
The reuse shop is stocked with items collected at the site and all goods are checked to ensure products are high quality before being displayed for sale.
Customers can take a look around the shop during opening hours from 9am to 4pm every Wednesday to Sunday, except on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Typical types of goods sold in reuse shops:
- furniture
- crockery, pots, cutlery, kitchen goods
- books, CDs Records, DVDs – all should be originals and not copies
- ornaments
- pictures, picture frames and pieces of art
- garden furniture, garden tools, garden ornaments
- premium clothing and footwear – donated directly to the shop

As the shop is a cashless store, purchases can only be made by card or other electronic payments.
Proceeds from sales at the reuse shop will go towards running costs of the shop and any profits will go to local charitable causes.
Councillor Carol Wood, Cabinet Member for Environment, said:
“The launch of the Waterswallows Reuse Shop follows on from the success of our reuse store at Bolsover and it’s great that we’re able to give items a new lease of life in Buxton now too.
“The shop is stocked with items brought to the recycling centre and has a range of goods for sale from furniture and homeware to garden equipment, books, CDs and vinyl.
“All goods are checked to ensure products are high quality before being displayed for sale.
“And the fact we’ll be looking to pass on the profits to benefit local communities makes it a real winner.”
Sean Matty, Regional Manager for Suez UK, said:
“Reuse is a vital part of Suez’s approach, helping to keep valuable items in circulation and prevent unnecessary waste.
“By offering quality pre-loved items at affordable prices, we are helping people access the products they need, while every purchase extends the life of an item, delivering environmental benefits while creating positive value for the community.”

Items brought to the recycling centre may be set aside by staff for resale. But anyone with items they believe might be suitable can hand them to staff on-site who will be happy to take a look.
