If you make a subject access request (SAR) we are legally obliged to respond and provide you with the information it holds about you within a specified time period, in most cases this will be within one month.
In some circumstances you may not be entitled to all of the information held about you, in these circumstances we would need to satisfy one of the exemptions contained within the DPA.
If we refuse your request on the basis of an exemption we will provide you with a justification for this decision. You are entitled to ask for an internal review of such a decision and may also make a complaint to the Information Commissioneror seek to enforce your right of access through a judicial remedy.
In addition to providing you with a copy of your data, you are also entitled to be provided with:
- the purposes of our processing
- the categories of personal data concerned
- the recipients or categories of recipient you disclose personal data to
- how long the data is kept for, or likely to be kept for
- information about where the data came from (if not directly from you)
- safeguards taken if your data is transferred outside the UK

However, having a completed form will enable us to respond more quickly to your request as it should, once completed contain all the information we will need to locate your information.
