A diverse and confident workforce

We aim to improve the diversity of our workforce, and develop the skills and confidence of our employees to deliver the equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) ambitions aligned with our People Strategy.

Key areas of focus

We will be focussing on the following:

  • workforce diversity
  • fair and inclusive employment policies and practices
  • training and behaviours
  • personal development and progression
  • employee engagement and communication

Current delivery plan – year 1 activity

By the end of March 2023, we will have:
  • analysed recruitment data to identify trends in recruitment and selection, progression, and retention to understand why people leave our organisation
  • introduced guidance in the workplace on neurodiversity, sexual orientation, and gender re-assignment to help raise awareness among managers and employees
  • engaged with our employee network groups to further develop their role and profile - we will have reviewed their terms of reference and worked collaboratively to organise initiatives and support awareness around EDI
  • developed a communications plan to celebrate diversity within the workforce and our communities
  • reviewed current EDI learning and development opportunities
