Help Ukrainian refugees

There are different ways you can help a Ukrainian family or refugee including becoming a host or simply donating money.

Apply to be a host

If you want to become a sponsor - or host - for a Ukrainian family or refugee, register your interest on the government's website.

You can also read more information about the homes for Ukraine scheme and find information about being a sponsor and how to support guests.

We have received a number of offers of help from residents wanting to provide support other than accommodation such as offers of friendship and showing Ukrainian people around the local area.

If you would like to offer support other than accommodation, please email ukrainesupport@derbyshire.gov.uk but please do not email us to offer to be a sponsor or host a Ukrainian refugee in your home.

Donating safely to Ukraine

The Disasters Emergency Committee, a coalition of 15 leading UK charities, has launched its collective appeal to provide emergency aid and rapid relief to civilians suffering during the conflict.

Many registered charities are also helping to provide vital life-saving services, like water, food and healthcare, to those caught up in the conflict, including those forced to flee to neighbouring countries.

Read the government's guide to donating safely to registered charities for Ukraine.

Offering employment

The government has information for businesses wishing to offer employment to Ukrainians once they have arrived.

Anyone who would like to give job opportunities to Ukrainian refugees should email dwhi.employerofferinbox@dwp.gov.uk clearly stating that they would like to offer employment to Ukrainians in their email.
