RSPH Level 2 Award in Encouraging Vaccination Uptake course

This is a free accredited training course for people who work in health and social care. This would include healthcare and educational professionals as well as those involved in community and volunteer groups.

All our courses are delivered online via MS Teams.

They're open to everyone, but there will be a slightly different focus depending on the dates. 

Course dates

All courses will run from 9.30am to 12.30pm each day, and you'll need to attend both sessions.

  • Wednesday 4 December and Thursday 5 December 2024. Focussing on Adult Social Care settings
  • Tuesday 14 January and Wednesday 15 January 2025. Focussing on early years settings
  • Tuesday 11 February and Thursday 13 February. Focussing on early years settings
  • Tuesday 11 March and Wednesday 12 March. Focussing on early years settings

Course content

This training will support you to:

  • work on specific projects, and actively engage with communities to make sense of the issues that affect their lives
  • make sure that local people have their say
  • build links with other groups and agencies
  • help to raise public awareness on the impact of low vaccine uptake

Some of the topics covered will be:

  • understanding the importance of vaccines and the key features of vaccination programmes
  • sources of concern and hesitancy regarding a named vaccination programme
  • what can impact on behaviour change and how to explore these factors with an individual
  • how to apply models of behaviour change in a brief intervention or conversation with an individual

You'll receive a RSPH Level 2 Award upon successful completion, which will demonstrate your commitment to improving public health.

Course costs

The course is free for all who would like to attend, providing that a part of their function is working with Derbyshire residents.
