Troubled Families

Troubled Families is a national government-funded programme of practical, intensive support provided at an early stage to families who need help rather than when they reach crisis point.

In Derbyshire since 2015 we've helped to get more than 700 families into work and off benefits and provided sustained support for more than 3,000 people.

Troubled Families helps us support families dealing with a range of difficult issues they find hard to manage on their own.

This can include mental illness, unemployment, health issues, low income, domestic abuse, involvement in crime and poor school attendance.

It involves working with the family as a whole and working with a range of other agencies to provide a tailor-made package of support to improve their lives.

As well as helping transform lives across Derbyshire the Troubled Families programme also helps to reduce pressure on public services.
