Personal education plans for children in care

The Personal Education Plan (PEP) is a statutory document that forms part of a child in care’s overall care plan.

The Derbyshire Virtual School recommends that a PEP meeting is conducted termly and is overseen by the Designated Teacher.

The PEP is a record of progress, achievement and professional support for the child and should ensure that their thoughts, opinions and feelings are central to the process and duly recorded.

Pupil Premium Plus funding is allocated to the Virtual School from central government and can be claimed termly by schools to support the child’s educational needs identified through the PEP process.
