First contact

Make your first steps towards adoption by getting in contact with us on freephone 0800 083 7744, 01629 533190 or email:

Once you've made initial contact by one of the above methods then Call Derbyshire will send you out an information pack.

Once you have had time to read the information, a social worker from the adoption team will be in contact.

If you feel it is the right time for you to continue they will arrange an initial visit to your home.

An adoption worker will visit you and members of your household to help you come to a decision as to whether adoption is right for you.

If following the initial visit you want to take your enquiry to the next stage you will need to complete and return the Registration of Interest (ROI) form sent with the initial visit letter.

Within five working days of receiving it we will contact you to advise if your ROI has been accepted, and if not give clear written reasons why. If it is accepted then Stage One is started.
