If you work for us, start by checking your records against the retention schedules. Those set for permanent retention should be transferred to Derbyshire Record Office.
There may still be historic research potential in records which have not been marked as for permanent retention, so contact our records management service if you have any queries.
Derbyshire County Council records should be processed in accordance with the Corporate Records Management Policy and other policies and procedures that form part of the information security management system. Speak to your department's information governance representative if in doubt.
Before transferring any records, you'll need to complete the services for depositors form. We'll then get in touch with you and ask you to compile a list of what you want to transfer using a template that we'll send you. This enables us to prepare for the accession and ensure the records are properly identified.
Once we've received your list, we'll contact you to arrange an appointment to transfer the records. Please do not send any records to us before we have agreed to accept them and made arrangements for them to come to us.
