Derbyshire Sings

Derbyshire Libraries has received funding from the Arts Council England’s National Lottery Grants, to create a library song which reflects how and why customers use our libraries and what they mean to them

We're working with different community groups to create song lyrics and recording the song with Chesterfield Studios and the Rose Choir.

As part of this project we're offering 3 online song writing workshops aimed at young adults aged from 14 to 25. These workshops are hosted online on Zoom, with experienced song writer, Carole Copeland.

You don’t need song writing experience to participate, all you need to bring with you is your own thoughts, ideas and opinions of using Derbyshire Libraries – from meeting others, research, reading, wi-fi, activities and events.

The events run over 2 days and can be booked on Eventbrite:

Further workshops are planned for different community groups in the autumn, please check out Facebook and Twitter for more information.

All groups will have the opportunity to participate in the singing and recording of the song, however this is entirely optional.
