This section includes information about the heritage of Elvaston Castle.
Find out more about the history of Elvaston's castle and the historic core gardens together with the numerous landscape features and built structures found across the estate.
If you are looking for a more detailed history of the estate, the series of downloadable guides in the related documents section of this page provide a walk through time from the ninth century through to the 1970's. These were reproduced from a hard copy of Elvaston's Guide Book, which was originally produced for the opening of the park in 1970. Unfortunately hard copies are no longer in print.
