Shipley Country Park is one of the best in the country
Shipley Country Park is amongst the country's finest parks, after receiving a prestigious Green Flag Award. The national award, handed out by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, recognises and rewards the best green spaces in the country. The park stood out after impressing the judges as a welcoming space with well-managed grounds and excellent facilities.
Yellow dog project
This project was created to raise awareness of dogs who need a bit more space than other dogs.
This might be because they are still in training, recovering from surgery or being rehabilitated.
Or it might just be a grumpy dog that doesn't like to be pestered by other dogs!
If you see a dog with a yellow ribbon or perhaps a yellow bandanna attached to its' leash or on the dog, this is a signal to you that this is a dog that needs some extra space.
Please do not approach this dog, or its owner or handler with your dog.
The yellow ribbon tells you that their dog cannot be close to other dogs.
Only the dog or its handler knows how close is too close, so please keep your distance and give them time to move out of your way.
Yellow dog owners really appreciate your help and respect.

Both Elvaston and Shipley Country Parks support the Yellow Dog Project and always welcome dogs and their responsible owners.
Poop scoop bags are available on site and there are waste bins throughout both parks. Please continue to help us keep our parks clean and healthy places to visit by cleaning up after your dog.
Please see the countryside events programme for what’s on offer across our countryside sites.
Shipley Country Park achieves the Breastfeeding Welcome Here award
Mums are entitled to breastfeed their babies in any public place in England (Equality Act 2010). We're encouraging venues to actively welcome breastfeeding through the Breastfeeding Welcome Here Award. Venues sign up to standards that aim to promote a welcoming and friendly atmosphere towards breastfeeding customers.
We actively support staff to make premises welcome for mothers to breastfeed. This can have a positive impact on making women feel able to breastfeed in public. We're proud to announce that Shipley Country Park Visitor Centre and Ramblers Café, (privately run), have achieved the Breastfeeding Welcome Here Award.
For further information about the project please see Breastfeeding Welcome Here award.
